Dress & Veil
As soon as I started thinking about wedding dresses, I knew that Jane Hill was going to be the designer for me.
While I didn’t necessarily have an exact image of my ‘dream dress’, I knew that I wanted it to be beautifully fitted, a bit different to the traditional look and definitely not strapless!
From the outset Jen and the team at Jane Hill were a dream to work with. After trying on a range of dresses and talking about the elements I liked/wanted it became clear that a custom couture gown was the answer.
From an initial sketch to all the little tweaks and edits during the fittings, Jen and Sophie made the whole process easy and enjoyable, and the dress just evolved into something amazing. In addition to looking perfect it was also so comfortable to wear – I couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Atmos & Here, from the Iconic. I wanted something very simple and classic.
Aparat Photography. We instantly loved the natural and relaxed feel of their work. Zosia was amazing – she made us feel so at ease, and I swear over the course of a 14 hour day she never put the camera down!
Tori Allen Events took care of our wedding styling and event management.
Throughout the wedding planning process it was really important for me to work with people that I trusted and clicked with – it stopped me having to worry about all the little details as I knew they were all over it!
Tori and her team were amazing at taking our ideas and bringing them to life in a way that was even better than we could have imagined but still felt like us.
Special credit also has to go to my mum – I was ridiculously obsessed with having half dip-dyed navy napkins so she got her DIY on and made it a reality!
As soon as I met Zoe, the head florist from Tori Allen Events, I knew our wedding florals were going to be amazing!
After talking through the overarching look I had in mind – a mix of native blooms, unique foliage and traditional flowers in a romantic colour palette – I really just left it up to her and was so wowed by the results.
From our incredible ceremony archway and stunning reception entry installation, to the gorgeous bouquets and buttonholes, there was not one thing I would have changed.
My wedding band, engagement ring and necklace are all custom pieces from Charles Rose. Andrew did an amazing job designing my beautiful engagement ring, and we were then able to work with the Charles Rose jewellers to create a curved wedding band that complemented it perfectly. My earrings were Tiffany & Co.
Hair & Makeup
Mae Taylor – I absolutely fell in love with Mae’s work on Instagram and was so thrilled when she was available to do our hair and makeup on the big day. She was a delight to work with and definitely nailed the brief.
My best friend Ali was my only bridesmaid which made things a bit simpler! The most important thing was that she felt really comfortable and confident in whatever she wore. The Bronx and Banco dress really reflected her personal style, she looked gorgeous and the colour was a great fit for the overall look of the wedding.
Coombe Estate in the Yarra Valley. We spent quite a long time looking for the right venue – we wanted somewhere that could hold both our ceremony and reception, had beautiful gardens, great food and provided our guests with a weekend away opportunity. Coombe ticked all the boxes and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting for our day.
This was probably the one element of the wedding that Andrew and I were equally excited about haha! We are both cake lovers so went with an amazing three tier cake from Crème de la Cakes which looked and tasted incredible.
We also gave our guests cute little take away bags so they could enjoy some cake for breakfast the next morning – my secret favourite part of going to a wedding!
