Dress & Veil
My dress was always going to be Jane Hill. Without question, without hesitation, without a doubt… my dress was the easiest choice I made in the preparation of the wedding.
Before Dom even proposed I followed Jane Hill on Instagram and would admire the stunning brides that looked ever so beautiful. I remember taking over 100 screen shots of the ‘Fleur’ print and instantly falling in love with the soft intricate detailed beading and lace. My dress was truly how I envisioned myself looking on my wedding day and I couldn’t have been happier.
I fell in love with my dress first but it wasn’t long until I fell in love with the Jen and the team at Jane Hill. Jen made every fitting enjoyable and an experience in itself. The overwhelming feeling of happiness and pride walking out of my last fitting is a feeling I will always remember. All brides deserve the same pride, joy, trust and experience I had planning my wedding dress at Jane Hill. To Jen and the girls at Jane Hill, I can’t thank you enough for creating my dream dress. You are a talented team and honestly am so proud to call myself a Jane Hill bride.
My wedding shoes were Valentino. They were actually a surprise gift from my fiancé at Christmas and as soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to wear them at our wedding.
Stephanie Bailly and Ebony Finck from PVH Production were our super talented photographers. In the beginning stages of planning I stumbled across Stephanie’s page on Instagram and made an enquiry with herself and a few other photographers. Once I met Stephanie my heart was sold. She was sweet, kind, understanding and truly understood everything we wanted to capture on our day. Her work speaks for itself and she is truly amazing at what she does. I love her passion and love for capturing beautiful authentic photos.
The Moon and Back did a phenomenal job at capturing the raw beautiful emotions of the day. Admittedly I watch the video every day and cry every time. It’s such a wonderful gift to look back at our wedding day and relive some of those very special moments all over again.
A day emphasising on the most important things to Sam & Dom, family and celebration. Smiles that didn’t leave faces all day, an infectious feeling that had everyone …
Everyone that knows me, knows… my first love is for Dom. My second love is for flowers. For that reason our wedding was full of fresh pastels roses and greenery that truly emphasised the romance that was in the air on our special day. Our florist, Leanne Tennenini from Ambrosia Floral designs nailed everything. I was very particular with what flowers I wanted for my bouquet and bridesmaids. Knowing how hard it is to get beautiful white fluffy roses.
I insisted on white David Austin roses and White David Austin roses was what I got. When I saw my bouquet I literally screamed of excited. I wish Leanne was there to see my reaction because I was truly so overwhelmed at how beautiful they truly were.
I planned everything months prior to the wedding although jewellery was the one thing I hadn’t thought of. My wedding dress was full of sparkle and detail so I was planning on just wearing the same pearl earrings I wear most days. Until, the morning of the wedding I received a box full of gifts from my fiancé. Which was very thoughtful. Inside the box was a pair of stunning Chanel drop pearls and a beautiful card that said “please put these on and meet me down the aisle at 2.00pm”.
Hair & Makeup
Hair up or Hair down was my biggest question? What a dilemma? My dress was very elegant. I wanted to keep it young and still fresh so I decided with hair down.
Gabrielle Roccuzzo is magic at soft waves. Which is exactly what I wanted for myself and my bridesmaids.
Victoria Filipovski did my very first formal make up and since then I have called her for every function and big occasion. She knows how to make a girl feel naturally beautiful without over doing it.
My bridesmaids wore Bianca Spender. I stood by each of my bridesmaids side on their special day, so I couldn’t imagine my day without all three. I had my twin sister Nicole, Dom’s twin sister and (now my sister Karen) and my dearest friend Ebony who introduced me to my now husband.
Our stationary was modern with a touch of rose gold however still understated enough to remain classic. Our save the dates, invitations, guest boards, table cards and thank you gifts were all Lauren Skorsis. Lauren was very professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend all future brides to contact Lauren, you will not be disappointed! She was excellent to work with.
Ceremony & Reception
The beautiful loud bells at St Patricks Cathedral is where we said our ‘I dos’. Followed by the reception at Leonda by the Yarra.
Advice for future brides
Your wedding day is truly the most wonderful and magical day. Try really hard not to fuss and stress about things that are truthfully not as important as you may think. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted our wedding to be beautiful and it was. Although I truly believe it’s the strong connection and the feeling of love that makes weddings so magical and that is something that cannot be planned.
The overwhelming feeling of love and happiness and saying ‘I do to forever’ in front of your dearest family and friends is what honesty matters most.
